Ruwan Al-Rejoleh is a scholar and consultant with extensive experience in geopolitics, socio-economic, and political research, and strategic communications. She provides informative analysis to various types of organizations and stakeholders that operate in fields related to the Syrian crisis. Her work focuses on the Middle East and North Africa and provides a nuanced understanding of groups engaged in conflict, including their religious motivations and social alliances as well as exploring the multi- dimensions impact of armed conflicts on local communities and local governance activities.

She provided her informed analysis and briefs to various senior policymakers in London and Washington, D.C. Formerly, Al-Rejoleh served in research institutions such as Brookings Doha Center in Qatar, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change in the United Kingdom, Navanti Group in the United States and Bank Audi in Syria. She has published many reports on violent extremist organizations and authored op-eds and analysis pieces featured in CNN, the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, and NATO Allied Command Transformations. Also, she has co-authored and submitted research papers to ERF (Economic Research Forum), and Chatham House on Syria’s Future and Reconstruction. Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Damascus – Syria. Al-Rejoleh has a Masters in Global Development and Peace from University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and she is a Boren–EHLS award recipient as well as a Georgetown University alum.
